Holiday Season Uber charges premium rates - New Year's Eve being the worst.
Newmarket's Todays Taxi has been in business much longer than upstart Uber but one wonders in this day if they can survive. In the end, personable and reliable service, with consistent service times and rates will win the day I think, and to that end, Today's Taxi get's the nod. Ditto Solo. Royal Taxi which left a disabled friend of mine stranded one night in Aurora, in winter, remains in the rear-view mirror.
As for Todays, I recall 10 years ago when our youth committee, which was figuring out ways to get at risk kids involved in activities, asked the Today's owner if they could provide a certain number of free spots so kids could attend, and they did...and it was used frequently - easily several thousands worth of $'s value per year. I never forgot that gesture and have always personally received professional service and response whenever dealing with Today's.
